Lockiva — Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Lockiva mobile application ("App") on Google Play. By installing or using Lockiva, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Who may use Lockiva

Lockiva is for adults aged 18 or older. It is not a children’s app. On first launch you choose one profile for this phone (stored on the device; not switchable in Settings):

• Parents — parents and guardians of young children (Kids Mode).
• Focus + Alert — college students and other adults managing their own screen time.

Kids Mode is configured and supervised by an adult on the same device.

2. What Lockiva does

Lockiva helps manage screen time on the device where it is installed (Kids Mode, Study/Focus, and Alert Mode). It uses Android permissions such as Usage Access and display-over-other-apps. Most usage data is stored locally. Lockiva does not remotely monitor other phones, does not use live GPS tracking, and does not prevent uninstall.

3. Your responsibilities

• Keep any parent PIN/password secure if you use Kids Mode.
• Comply with applicable laws when supervising a child’s device use.
• Do not use Lockiva to harass, spy on, or harm others, or for any unlawful purpose.
• Grant and maintain required Android permissions.

4. Free and Premium features

Free features may include limits (such as apps per mode) and ads on the Focus + Alert profile. Optional Lockiva Premium (Google Play) removes banner ads and unlocks additional features.

5. Subscriptions & billing

• Premium is sold through Google Play Billing. Payment, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and trials are handled by Google.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions before renewal.
• If an intro offer or paid trial is shown in Google Play, you are charged the regular price when it ends unless you cancel first.

6. Advertising

On the Focus + Alert profile, free users may see banner ads and may watch a rewarded video (Watch Ad) on the Alert lock for extra time on this device. The Parents profile does not show ads (including Settings, Profile, Study listings, and Kids Mode). Premium removes banner ads. See the Privacy Policy for ad-related data.

7. Optional sign-in

Google Sign-In is optional. Firebase Authentication may process your Google account information as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

Lockiva is provided "as is". Device makers, Android versions, and OEM settings may affect blocking, timers, or background services. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation on every device.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of Lockiva, except where liability cannot be excluded.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms or the App. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. The date on this page will be updated.

11. Termination

Stop using Lockiva by uninstalling and cancelling any subscription in Google Play. We may suspend or discontinue features where required by law or platform policy.
